This is the first episode (001) of the new podcast segment, EGO Search. For a background on how I came up with this kind of content, please listen to the pilot program (000), EGO Search on Triple Zero.

Here is a general outline of the EGO Search segment:

  • 00:00 Introduction of the guest via an ego search.
  • 00:01 How / When / Why do you do an ego search?
  • 00:05 Exploration (”Internet Explorer") of your product / service.
  • 00:10 Do you have all the ducks (”DuckDuckGo) in a row?
  • 00:12 Your magnum opus (”Opera”) moment?
  • 00:14 ”Hasta La Vista, Baby!” (”Altavista”)
  • 00:15 Call to action! Do an EGO Search, and please come back to me and my guest, with your findings… ;)

This is a blog post on a new segment of my podcast show, EGO NetCast, called EGO Search. The pilot episode is called triple zero (000). Could this new segment become the UVP (USP) in the search of the perfect tag in The Feed?

This solo episode was recorded on Fourth of July (American west coast time - Pacific Daylight Time). I recorded the show with IK Multimedia's iRig Mic Lav (mobile lavalier microphone) and Boss Jock Studio app, on my smartphone (iPhone 6S Plus). Post-production was done through Auphonic.

The interview with Colin Cray, a.k.a the Podcast Host, was recorded (length: 59 minutes) on June 5, with the Ringr app. At the beginning of our conversation we talk about Colin's interest in mountain biking and I mention Jerry Nilson's site Cycloclimbing.com ("Road cycling on mountain roads").

As a fellow podcaster, I experienced plenty of aha-moments during the episode. I got several new ideas for the podcasts that I am involved in, and potential features for new podcasts in the pipeline...

I am tinkering on how I could apply "content stacking" on my social media activities in the near future.

The interview with Jim Palmer was recorded (length: 51 minutes) on May 23, with the Ringr app. During our conversation, we talk about Jim's new book, Just Say Yes, his coaching business, and the new floating home

You could say it is a small world when you find out that Jessica Rhodes of InterviewConnections.com, is Jim's daughter. Her colleague, Sue Morton (expert podcast matchmaker, client happiness), reached out to me through the service called PodcastGuests.com. After my personal assistant of X.ai, Amy Ingram (powered by artificial intelligence), got confused about the scheduling of the interview, Jim's wife, Stephanie Palmer, picked up the conversation thread and coordinated the booking.

Another tidbit: After the interview, I connected with Jim on LinkedIn and saw that he had studied at the same university (Southern New Hampshire University) as yours truly.

Here are some links to books, resources, and sites, mentioned during the first half of the show:

You will find more show notes on the blog in July, after I am back on track with the backlog of recorded interviews.

The interview with Sean Douglas was recorded on April 3 (length: 47 minutes).

[Editor's note: I am catching-up with a backlog of recordings, so please stay tuned... I have been under the weather due to "bandwidth anxiety." I am "eating fiber" (and "onion") nowadays, so I am fit for fight again! ;)]

I am sorry to say that this recording got caught by the browser bug. Kris of Ringr told me that it was caused by a webRTC issue with wrong sample rate for the recording.

For more information about Sean Douglas ("U.S. Air Force Veteran, Motivational & Inspirational Speaker, Master Resilience Trainer, Life Coach, & Author"), check out his Facebook page, podcast (Life Transformation Radio), and book (Decisions: The Power To Overcome Self-Defeating Behaviors).

For the record: I am sticking with Ringr. On a related note, please check out these podcasts, posts, and resources:

The interview with Alex Genadinik was recorded on March 7, with the Ringr app.

[Editor's note: This interview is divided into two parts due to technical problem with my iPhone. More about this issue in a future solo show episode of my podcast. Listen to part I here. ^ML]

I interviewed Jim Sweeney on February 13. I wonder if Jim's favorite beverage is apple cider? I look forward to a followup conversation with MikeRaffone in the near future.

[Editor's note: Our conversation ended in an abrupt way, around the 50 min. mark, due to a technical issue.]

I interviewed Alison Donaghey on January 27. I had put the volume a bit high, so the recording got a doubling effect. Kris of Ringr fixed the sound, by using a dynamics processor filter to gate the audio.
